Job Description

Our client a main contractor on Scottish Water is looking for Water Network Operatives On the Orkney Isles to join their busy team . This is a long term position.. This is an excellent opportunity working for the right candidates to join a successful company with over 1000 personnel within the UK water industry. As a Water Network Operative within the Mains Cleaning Team you will be part of a two-man team (working some nights and some early mornings), reporting to the Senior Operative and assisting with completion of required site based work. This work could be supporting Scottish Water or another water company in the UK, as such any applicants must be flexible about working away. Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to; You will assist with identifying problems, potential solutions and escalating any issues as required and help with all allocated work. Provide information to allow daily updates to be completed. Assist with dealing with any site issues raised. Attend office and site-based meetings. Quality & adherence to H&S of works. Ensure compliance with water regulations on site. Interact with Customers in a professional manner always. Rectify/advise on site and technical issues Promote good working practices Monitor Flushing programme and report any on-site issues that affect progress to the Senior Operative. Reporting of any site issues to relevant management staff Essential Skills/Experience Full UK Driver's License Positive, "Can-do" attitude with excellent work ethic Ability to work away when required (Mon-Thurs only) Excellent communication skills with colleagues and the general public. Desirable Skills/Experience Previous involvement in Water Network Operations EUSR National Water Hygiene Card EUSR DOMS (Distribution, Operations, Maintenance, Strategy) Card NRSWA Card. Be IT literate to include use of PDA/Tablet device The role is based on a 40 hour working week with 28 days' holiday per annum. For the right candidate, my clients are willing to offer up to £20k per annum based on age and experience. A full driver's license is essential for this role.
