Job Description

Software Developer Location: Romford Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience Purpose Responsible for developing and supporting URIS and Group applications both off and online. To analyse, develop and test all applications using the appropriate processes, methods and standards. Act as a point of referral to other developers and assist software development strategies. Job Description The main tasks of the role are:- Undertake analysis, design, programming and testing for the development of new systems. Provide support for, and enhancements to, existing systems. Ability to produce system designs and deliver solutions. Produce technical documentation to support the development of new systems. Develop relationship with business users to aid full understanding of business requirements. Make recommendations as and when required to improve systems. Execute unit testing for all development. Provide assistance to others across the business. Produce accurate estimates and monitor progress against established project milestones. Provide regular updates to management on the progress of work. Proactively identify and mitigate against project risks Liaise with the Support Desk and the larger team to ensure priorities are being correctly addressed. Work through all aspects of the development lifecycle as well as contribution to and implementation of improvements to best practices, high quality design and development of software. Embrace and drive ownership of personal and team objectives doing everything you can to achieve them Demonstrate high standards of personal performance Prepare for and participate in formal appraisals which are delivered in line with current appraisal frameworks Demonstrate the ability to change focus quickly to support the needs of the business - including covering for other roles where required - displaying energy and commitment in all you do Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by your Line Manager Ensure compliance to IT controls in all activities undertaken. Deliver to agreed levels of quality and in the agreed timescales To follow QA practises in the development and testing of software All projects meet agreed objectives and standards. All projects delivered on schedule and on budget. Customer satisfaction achieved. All Service Level Agreements are to be maintained across the department and all documented business processes followed. Adherence to the company's Learning & Development and HR scheme. Maintain own personal development record and bring to each quarterly appraisal Personal Attributes Essential : 2/3 Years' experience working in a professional software development environment. Technical proficient in the following skill sets: MS Visual Studio 2017/2019 C# .Net 4.7 framework Entity Framework ASP.NET MVC 6.0 Web Services/Web API Single Page Application (SPA) design JSON client server data exchange JavaScript / Vue JS JavaScript framework / HTML /XML / CSS IIS 8, 9 or 10 MS SQL Server development, TSQL/Stored Procedures Web GUI presentation Web navigation/usability/accessibility Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving; Flexible and able to absorb new information or change in plans in a rapidly changing environment Capable of providing assistance to other team members; Familiar with relevant programming methods, techniques, procedures and controls; Good appreciation of the wider field of IT; Source Control Practices using source control tools e.g. TFS Ability to work independently and in a team with Good formal and informal communications ability both orally and in writing Desirable : Degree level or equivalent; Knowledge of design and software development methodologies Knowledge of Web farms.
