Job Description

Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer - London Our clients are one of the largest engineering consultancies with offices based all throughout the UK. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their London office. The role: The Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer will be responsible for providing geo-environmental advice to internal project teams and external clients and help manage the geo-environmental team workload. The candidate will be expected to have the following skills/experience: * -Experience in undertaking, scoping and reviewing Preliminary Risk Assessments and Intrusive Ground investigations * -High level of understanding of contaminated land legislation and planning regime to provide geo-environmental ground investigation scoping and generic risk assessment * -A good understanding of geology, ground models and geotechnical engineering * -Interpretative report writing and reviewing including a good understanding of geology, ground models, and geotechnical engineering/soil behaviours * -A thorough understanding of generic and detailed quantitative risk assessment for human health, ground gases and volatiles and Controlled Water * -A good understanding of existing and emerging remedial options, experience in compiling options appraisal reports and remedial strategies and method statements * -Experience in liaising with Regulators and Local Authorities in respect to the discharge of contaminated land conditions and Part IIA land inspection * -Ability to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy, with awareness of structural, civil and transport capabilities in the wider firm * -Experience in client facing roles, developing good working relationships with other professionals within wider project teams and an enthusiasm towards business development and marketing Requirements: * - Minimum of 4 years' experience in geo-environmental site investigation and assessment remediation * - A degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineer, Geology/Earth Sciences (or similar) * - An MSc in Environmental Engineering or similar related subject would be beneficial * - Ideally Chartered or working towards * - Excellent communication skills * - Full UK drivers licence In Return: * - £30,000 - £40,000 salary * - Excellent career progression opportunities * - Contributory pension scheme * - Flexible benefits programme Keywords: Geotechnical, Geoenvironmental, Geotechnical Engineering, Land Contamination, Site Engineer, Ground Investigation, Geotechnical Engineer, Geo-environmental Engineer, Geology, Environmental Scientist, geotechnical assessments, Civil Engineer, Contaminated Land Consultant, Engineering Geologist, Geotechnical Design Engineer, Site Investigation Engineer, Soil Mechanics, Soil Analysis, ICE
