Job Description

Gi Group are currently recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a global food manufacturers, based in Birstwith (Harrogate). Our prestigious client mills and manufactures ingredients and feed at their Birstwith site. The role suits a shift engineer with mechanical and electric qualifications. The Maintenance Engineer will be required to respond quickly in the event of equipment breakdown, applying effective problem solving and communication skills to implement a long term and effective solutions. You would also schedule and implement PPM where necessary, working pro-actively as well as re-actively. JOB DETAILS: * Type: Temporary for 3 months, potential perm opportunities available * Hours: 6am-2pm; 8am-4pm; 2pm-10pm rotating shift pattern, with on call duties whilst 2pm-10pm * Pay:£18 ph, overtime £27 * Double pay for callouts - 4hrs KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Technical support to the site to ensure maximum utilisation of plant, systems and machinery * When issues arise on the production process / line, identify the cause of the issue, initiate an appropriate action plan to resolve, report and document actions taken. Escalate issues that cannot be solved * Create and maintain an Asset Management programme for the Value Stream to meet the requirements of the business; Asset register & critical assessment, Asset history, Safety risk assessment, Machine settings, Critical parts list, Autonomous, preventative & predictive maintenance routines * Document Standard Work & Standard Confirmation * Execute Continuous Improvement * Establish capability of all value stream processes and develop statistical process controls to monitor and ensure processes are stable and deliver products that meet customer specifications * Ensure all engineering work carried out in the value stream meets the requirements of Quality, Safety, Health & Environment policies & procedures PERSON SPECIFICATION: * Electrical and mechanical experience and qualifications required * A recognised engineering qualification is required (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, National Craft Certificate, Time Served Apprenticeship or relevant mechanical or electrical engineering qualification) * Relevant exposure to a high volume, highly automated manufacturing environment * Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills * Specialisation in either mechanical, electrical or automation & control * Engages and expresses ideas * Team oriented to enable value stream reach goals * Demonstrates ownership for the job * Learns quickly in a changing environment * Embraces change, adaptable and maintains effectiveness in varying environments * Demonstrates a can do attitude * Committed to continuous process and personal improvement If you meet the above criteria and wold like to apply for the role of a Maintenance Engineer please apply with your CV, or alternatively call Kinga on (phone number removed) for more information.
