Job Description

We are a Tier 1 approved supplier of Electrical and Mechanical airport infrastructure services and resources to Heathrow Airport and its subsidiary companies. We are based in Colnbrook, Berkshire. Organic and consistent business growth has created an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in this role to work a day/night shift. Reporting directly to Senior Projects Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out duties instructed by the Project Managers: painting, decorating, dry lining, floor laying, suspended ceiling, hand tools cutting and measuring and working to drawings in the company workshop. As a hands-on engineer you will also be called upon to also do other RMP Department maintenance and be actively involved in any other project-related work within your skillset or experience. This position will require an enthusiastic, motivated Mechanical Engineer who is looking to work in a challenging and rewarding environment. The ideal candidate must have experience working at HAL (Heathrow Airport Limited) and understand the specific safety issues inherent to the airport. Key Responsibilities * Provide support to the Project Managers with all types of project work. * Ability to carry out general maintenance works as and when required by the business at Heathrow Airport * Assist Project Managers with costing works, carry out site surveys, produce materials and labour cost sheet data for office * Fully comply with the Company Health & Safety Procedures. * To have responsibility, to continually help and improve the processes relating to statutory and regulatory requirements of the Organisation. * Any other duties that the company may reasonably ask you to perform which are within your expertise and skill sets. Key Accountabilities * Accountable for carrying out fit out works at client sites ie: steel erecting, fixing of hand rails, installation works for mechanical pipework, steelwork, conveyor parts, crash barriers, steel bollards, steel stud partitioning works, trunking and cable strays * Delivery products and materials to customer site when necessary * Responsible for collection of materials or stock from suppliers when required Key Skills/Experience * Experience working at HAL (Heathrow Airport Limited) * Able to read engineering drawings and site lay out drawings * Able to use welding equipment an advantage * Good planning and organisational skills * Good skill base in mechanical engineering * Good overall skill base in building repairs, maintenance and basic decorating * Good time keeping skills * Flexibility in working hours may be necessary as business continues to grow * Be within a commutable distance to Heathrow airports * A full clean UK driving licence Measure of Success (KPI's) * Projects are delivered to cost and time parameters * Ensure all works are carried out to the correct engineering standards We Value * Ability to be passionate, energetic, driven with a desire to succeed * A result driven and energetic approach to opportunities and challenges * Adaptable to changing situations * A positive attitude and enthusiasm * The ability to communicate well at all levels * Able to work autonomously and as a team player * Self-motivation
