Job Description

A precission engineering business in Hampshire is seeking a new Managing Director to implement change on behalf of the new Private Equity Owner. This is a career changing opportunity for a commercially driven Managing Director who is able to implement change and once established, play a vital role in the develpment and further aquisitions of the PE House's growing Engineering portfolio. The Managing Director will report directly to the Executive Chair and will be Board appointed. The job holder will lead the Senior Operational Team and will contribute to the establishment and implementation of a strategy that supports both profitability and growth. The Managing Director will play a pivotal role in the continued transformation of the business. Key Responsibilities: * Ensuring on time delivery and OTIF are rapidly improved along with lead times * Engagement with key customers and selling a demonstrably improved OTD and lead time service to both existing and new customers. * Ensuring quotations are turned round rapidly and job costings and margins are fully understood to facilitate and support competitive quotation preparation for winning new work. * Implementation and monitoring of relevant KPIs ensuring they are delivered * Reducing indirect overhead and recruitment of new sales focused team Key accountabilities * Delivery of P&L budget * Delivery of rapid improvement in OTD, OTIF and reduce lead times * Reduction in indirect overhead * Improve order intake with existing and new customers * Finesse quotation process and improve Request for Quotation to order quotation ratios * Generate improved order intake with existing and new customers via competitive quoting PERSON SPECIFICATION The ideal profile is of an experienced Managing Director or General Manager with aspirations for full P&L responsibility. The individual will have detailed knowledge of the precission engineering sector and as importantly will have the vision and competitive drive to implement a culture of continual improvement within the business.
