The Opportunity This is a very interesting challenge for a Managing Director with a strong background in low volume, high quality engineered parts production to join a long established C.N.C. Turning and Milling company in North West London. The company has recently been acquired by a Private Equity investor and are therefore looking for someone to take on the day to day running of the business as well as develop and implement a robust growth strategy. The Role The role is one of two halves. It is vitally important that the new Managing Director fully immerses themselves with a firm but fair approach in the day to day running of the business as soon as possible to engage and enthuse the long serving team. In addition it is of equal importance to be equipped with the knowledge to review and restructure the business to maximise opportunity, increase revenue and deliver significant growth. Key accountabilities Full responsibility for delivery of P&L Review and implementation of companywide KPI's and targets to ensure improvement and growth. Lead project to acquire new business premises Review and implement new job descriptions for management team, providing mentoring and training material where necessary. Implement business development strategy. Working closely with the Sales Director to increase revenue from existing client base, as well as creating new revenue streams. Ultimate responsibility for the business's policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Quality and staffing. Skills & Experience Strong track record as a successful Managing Director or Senior Manager within an Engineering/Production facility Thorough understanding of CNC Machining including programming, machine tools and machine parts. Highly numerate - experience of managing a P&L Strong people management skills, with the ability to liaise with people at all levels - (hands on approach) Strong strategic thinker - ability to write and deliver ambitious but realistic business plan. Evidence of delivering continuous improvement and change management programmes. Experience of working within a small batch, high quality manufacturing business. Good understanding of AS9100 Quality procedures Personal attributes Natural leadership style - strong impact and influence.
