Job Description

Head of Media - Full Time - Wimbledon - South West London Based at our Wimbledon headquarters, as the Head of Media you will be optimising the planning and investment of marketing expenditure to deliver the marketing strategy and maximise returns to the business. The Head of Media will support the marketing vision and Lidl's brand house through the development and activation of campaign initiatives in close partnership with Head of brand strategy and through collaboration with other departments within Lidl. This is a great opportunity to take real ownership and shape the media strategy. What will you do? • Ensuring effective communication between media, brand strategy, campaign management and production teams to ensure media plans deliver strategic requirements and are feasible • Representing media and budget control to internal and external stakeholders. • Building and leading the media team instilling a culture of growth and development through feedback, coaching of team members and creating a role model mentality . • Overseeing media agency relationships • Overseeing effective operation of the media planning and budget control team and assure quality of output. • Maintain and refine effective ways of working between internal marketing teams and external partners to optimise resources and help ensure smooth delivery of class leading campaigns • Apportioning investment to marketing inititiatives to ensure they can be delivered effectively • Creating and regularly reviewing budget plans alongside budget holders to ensure budget is on track • Ensuring rigorous budget control across all items of marketing expenditure • Establishing KPIs for media investment and ensuring effective measurement, capturing insights and learnings for the future • Ensuring all media initiatives are objective-led with a clear rationale and business benefit • Ensuring econometric modelling best practice, generating insight and optimising investment to improve ROI • Negotiating terms with marketing suppliers and ensuring contractucal compliance with Lidl guidelines • Interrogating media plans to ensure they are optimised vs objectives to maximise cost efficiency and appropriate innovation What will you need? • Extensive experience in leading a team to deliver on set goals and KPIs • An enabling leadership style • Agency experience is a must alongside media expertise • A proven track record of achieving process and procedural compliance • The ability to work well with others whilst forming and articulating your own views and opinions • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels • A methodical approach to problems with the ability to analyse data and implement the best possible solution • Highly organised with an unwavering eye for detail • The ability to multi-task and handle conflicting deadlines • Fluency in English is essential and German is beneficial What do we offer? • Competitive Salary and benefits • Fully expensed company car including private mileage • 35 days holiday per annum (including bank holidays) • Private medical insurance • Contributory pension scheme • 10% discount on all Lidl products, in all stores throughout the UK • Access to corporate discounts on a range of products and services (including holidays, home and garden products, leisure activities and more) Please note your employment is conditional upon the Company's receipt of satisfactory references and if requested by the Company, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check
