Job Description

Marks Sattin are working on behalf of a manufacturing business with Global reach. Due to internal movement, the business are seeking a Financial Controller in Rotherham to join them on a permanent basis. The Financial Controller is a key member of the Senior Leadership team providing financial oversight to the business operations and leading the team responsible for generation of key financial documents and reports for the business. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities * Prepare statutory year end accounts and co-ordinate with the Corporate consolidation team * Lead for year-end external audits * Manage VAT and tax compliance including supporting the business in understanding where tax rebates may apply to its activities * Complete year end corporation tax packs * Oversee banking activities * Lead and develop General Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team * Co-ordinate closely with the wider Business Management team to ensure alignment, consistency and accuracy of financial accounts and reports * Review and drive continuous improvement of Financial procedures and ERP system workflows to optimise the team's performance * Deputise/act as delegate for the Finance Director as required * Responsible for ensuring Accounting procedures remains compliant within UK GAAP, including leading support to annual statutory audit * Responsible for ensuring the business remains compliant with all statutory financial legislation and internal financial policies * Undertake any other reasonable adhoc tasks as requested * Attend Business Management department meetings * Support the Business Management Director in developing and growing a professional and engaged team * Understand and apply all policies, processes and procedures around people management, compliance and governance Essential Qualifications/Experience * Qualified UK Accountant * Experience leading and supporting a team * Extensive experience in business management * Compliance delivery * Demonstrable experience as main point of contacts for banking and audit liaison * Knowledge-sharing to drive financial efficiencies across the wider organisation The business is offering an extremely competitive salary and fantastic benefits including bonus, flexible working and the potential for a company car.
